EatWell & Win: Nourish Your Body, Shape the Future

At USC Hospitality, we believe every meal is an opportunity to fuel your body, support your well-being, and contribute to a more sustainable food future. That’s why we’ve partnered with the USC Work Well Center to bring you the EatWell Program, designed to make balanced, nutritious eating easier than ever.

As one of the founding universities of the Menus of Change University Research Collaborative (MCURC), USC is at the forefront of using campus dining as a living laboratory for behavior change. Through initiatives like EatWell, we align with the Menus of Change Principles of Healthy, Sustainable Menus, helping to shape eating habits that promote lifelong health while protecting the planet. The choices we make today—what we eat, how our food is sourced, and the impact it has—will shape the food system of tomorrow.

From April 7–18, 2025, every time you enjoy an EatWell meal at Seeds Marketplace, Panda Express, Taco-Taco, C&G Juice Co, or Cafe Annenberg—and order through the campus dining mobile app—you’ll be automatically entered for a chance to win a pair of Apple Earbuds!

No purchase? No problem! Simply scan the QR code in the food court to access the entry form and participate in the giveaway.

Brewing Change at Moreton Fig Café

Steamed cream and coffee

At the heart of campus, Moreton Fig Café has quickly become a favorite destination for students, faculty, and staff seeking the perfect cup of coffee. This transformation from a traditional restaurant into a vibrant coffeehouse and event space is more than just a new concept—it’s a commitment to quality, sustainability, and meaningful partnerships.

That’s why we’re proud to serve Equator Coffees. This women-founded and women-owned company has been leading the way in ethical sourcing, sustainability, and social responsibility for nearly three decades.

A Commitment to Impact

Founded in 1995 by Helen Russell and Brooke McDonnell, Equator Coffees was built on the belief that coffee can be better—better sourced, better roasted, and better for the people behind every bean. From a garage in Marin County to becoming California’s first Certified B Corporation coffee roaster in 2011, Equator continues to set the standard for responsible business practices.

This means every cup poured at Moreton Fig Café supports a company that prioritizes fair wages for farmers, invests in environmentally responsible sourcing, and fosters economic opportunities for women in the coffee industry.

A Shared Vision for a Better Future

Sustainability and social responsibility are at the core of both Equator Coffees and our university’s mission. By choosing partners who align with these values, Moreton Fig Café is more than just a café—it’s a space that represents progress, innovation, and the power of conscious business decisions.

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we recognize the visionaries behind Equator Coffees and the impact of women-led businesses across industries. Their leadership and dedication inspire us to continue fostering an inclusive and sustainable campus community.

So, whether you’re stopping by for your morning latte or getting an afternoon pick-me-up, know that your choice to support Moreton Fig Café extends far beyond the cup—it’s a vote for ethical sourcing, environmental stewardship, and a future where businesses are a force for good.

Join us in celebrating Women’s History Month by raising a cup to women-led businesses and a more sustainable tomorrow.
